School Olympics

Arrowwood Community School has been hosting their own Olympics for the students.  We started with an opening ceremony on Feb.12th where students created flags to represent their Synergy Groups. This was followed by the Olympic torch making its journey around the gym and then students each getting their own torches( made of ice cream cones and Cheetos - they quickly disappeared).

Our first event was Floor Hockey on Wed. Feb. 14th with the Loonie Toonies group capturing the gold, the Polar Bears silver and the Beavers earning bronze.  Feb. 16th saw the students competing in the bobsled event with the Beavers taking gold, the Loonie Toonies silver and team Captain Red and White taking the bronze.

Feb. 26th saw the curling event take place with lots of excitement for the Loonie Toonies capturing their second gold medal, the Grizzly Bears with silver and the Terry Foxes with bronze. Feb.27th brought us Biathlon - with sling shots and marshmallows.  Loonie Toonies their third gold medal, the Mighty Maples with the silver and team Captain Red and White capturing their second bronze.

Skiing will be the final event on Thursday March 1st and our closing ceremonies on March 2nd where we will update with our final standings...so stay tuned.
